For the spots where real grass loses the fight
Deep shade. Dog runs. Narrow side yards. Pool surrounds. Some places in a South Florida yard will never grow good grass no matter how much water and fertilizer you throw at them. Turf that stays green year round is the honest fix.
The work is under the surface
Anyone can unroll turf. The job is the base: excavation, proper compacted base layers, drainage that handles a summer downpour, clean secured edges, and seams you cannot find. That is what you are paying for, and it is why ours stays flat and draining for years.
Turf where it makes sense, plants where they belong
We are landscape designers first. If turf is right for a space we will tell you. If a shade garden or new sod is the better answer, we will tell you that instead and it will usually cost you less.
The part you never see is the part that matters
Turf jobs live or die underground. We excavate the old grass, build a compacted rock base, and get the grading right so water drains instead of ponding. Then the turf goes on with clean seams and tight edges. Skip the base work and you get wrinkles, soft spots, and puddles by next summer. That is the shortcut we refuse to take, and it is why the finished lawn stays flat and tight for years.
Where turf makes sense in South Florida
Turf is the honest answer where real grass keeps losing. Deep shade under big trees, where St. Augustine thins out no matter what you feed it. Narrow side yards too tight to mow. Dog runs. Pool surrounds that track mud into the water. We will also tell you when real grass is the better call, because a big open sunny lawn usually wants the real thing. Selling you turf you do not need is not the reputation we are building.
Turf pairs well with a full landscape design, where the green stays perfect and the beds around it carry the character.
Questions we get about artificial turf
- How long does artificial turf last?
- Quality turf carries a fifteen year manufacturer warranty and usually looks good past it. The base underneath, done right, basically lasts forever. The base is why you hire someone instead of watching a video.
- Is turf okay for dogs?
- Yes, it is one of the main reasons people call. We install pet-rated turf with drainage and infill made for it. Rinse it now and then and it stays clean and green.
- Does it get hot?
- In direct July sun, yes, warmer than real grass. A quick rinse cools it fast, and in shaded areas it stays comfortable. We will tell you honestly if your spot is a good turf spot.
- What maintenance does it need?
- No mowing, no watering, no fertilizer. Blow the leaves off, rinse where the dog goes, brush the fibers up once in a while. That is the whole list.
